• Cleanup supplies (bags, gloves, grabbers)

Funds allocated to supplies are used to purchase essential cleanup materials required for safe and effective litter removal. This includes heavy-duty trash bags, recycling bags where applicable, litter grabbers, and protective gloves. Supplies are selected based on durability, safety, and environmental considerations to minimize waste and reduce repeated purchases. Materials are distributed to volunteers during organized cleanup events and stored responsibly for future use.

• Safety equipment for volunteers

• Safety gear funding supports the protection of volunteers during cleanup activities. This may include high-visibility vests, first aid kits, sharps containers, masks, and other protective equipment deemed necessary for specific environments. Safety gear is provided to reduce risk, prevent injury, and ensure volunteers can participate confidently and responsibly. 

• Disposal fees (when required)

When applicable, funds may be used to cover waste disposal fees charged by local facilities or services. All collected litter is disposed of in accordance with local regulations and environmental standards. Whenever possible, partnerships with municipalities or waste providers are used to reduce or eliminate disposal costs. Hazardous materials are never disposed of improperly and are reported to the appropriate authorities when discovered.

• Community outreach and materials

Volunteer safety is a top priority. All participants are expected to follow these guidelines during cleanup activities:

• Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and appropriate clothing.
  
  

• Gloves must be worn at all times when handling debris.
  
  

• Volunteers should never pick up sharp objects, hazardous materials, or unknown substances.
  
  

• Any needles, chemicals, or potentially dangerous items must be reported immediately to the cleanup lead.
  
  

• Volunteers should remain aware of their surroundings, including traffic, terrain, and weather conditions.
  
  

• Children may only participate under direct supervision of a parent or guardian.
  
  

• Participation is voluntary, and individuals may step away from activities at any time.
  
  

Failure to follow safety guidelines may result in removal from an event to protect all participants.

All volunteers, organizers, and participants are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism, respect, and integrity.

• Treat all individuals with respect regardless of background, identity, or beliefs.
  
  

• Follow instructions provided by event organizers and safety leads.
  
  

• Do not engage in harassment, intimidation, or disruptive behavior.
  
  

• Respect public and private property at all times.
  
  

• Do not remove or damage property unrelated to litter cleanup.
  
  

• Represent the organization positively in interactions with the public.
  
  

Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in removal from events and exclusion from future participation.
